The Children's Theatre of Winston-Salem is happy to continue last summer's successful partnership with the Open Dream Ensemble to present a multi-disciplinary summer theatre arts camp for youth 7-11 years of age. The camp is a week-long, half-day camp, to be held at The Children's Museum of Winston-Salem (309 South Liberty Street) the week of Monday, August 4th through Friday, August 8th from 9 AM till Noon, with a final performance to be presented on Friday, August 8th at 11:30 AM.
The staff and performers of the Open Dream Ensemble (ODE) will be the resident teaching artists for the camp providing an incredible teaching ratio of approximately 3 students to 1 teacher. The campers will be split into three age groups (7-8 year olds, 9-10 year olds and 11 year olds) and will rotate through three theatrical disciplines (acting/improvisational skills, music, dance) as well as learning a variety of performance practice skills and exercises.
Camp fees are $175 per student with a limited amount of scholarship slots available to economically disadvantaged students and families. The fee includes a daily snack and beverage.
If you would like your child to learn and be exposed to basic acting and performance skills and techniques as taught by trained, talented and experienced performers then this camp is as good as it gets.
